Case study

Salty Flame

Repositioning a Brickell steakhouse online. The site moved from a red, Asian styled theme to a gold forward steakhouse identity that matches the room.

The brief

Make the website read like a steakhouse.

Salty Flame is a steakhouse at 1414 Brickell Avenue. The restaurant had rebranded, but the website still ran on the old look: bright red, Asian style motifs and dragon graphics left over from the previous concept. The job was a look and feel pass on the live WordPress site so the first impression online matched the gold and charcoal room guests actually walk into.

The rebrand

Three moves, one identity.

Surgical changes to the theme rather than a full rebuild.

Recolor

Swapped the old brand red for antique gold on charcoal across headers, buttons and section dividers, so the palette carries the steakhouse feel from top to bottom.

Strip the old story

Removed the dragons and Asian style symbols from the previous concept and let clean type, an editorial serif over a mono accent, do the talking.

Rework the nav

Put Book Now, Menu and Order Online up front as clear calls to action, and moved Blog and About into the footer where they belong.

On the page

A lunch worth booking.

The refreshed site puts the lunch experience front and center, priced and easy to scan so a Brickell professional can decide in seconds.
